Direct Support Professionals WeekSeptember 10, 2012 5:17 PM

Direct Support Professionals have unfortunately been consistently undervalued professionals. These are the individuals who provide direct, day-to-day care for our most vulnerable citizens. At BAMSI, the largest groups of Direct Support Professionals we employ are our residential counselors and day support professionals. They provide excellent care to the individuals we serve in residential homes and day habilitation centers. It is only through their dedication and expertise that we are able to offer the high-quality level of care that we define as our standard.
Governor Deval Patrick is aware of the limited recognition afforded to these groups of employees. That’s why he proclaimed this week, September 9-15, 2012, as Direct Support Professionals Week. Please join us and the Governor in recognizing all Direct Support Professionals, especially our BAMSI employees. If you or your family receives services, remember to thank the Direct Support Professional who cares for your loved one.
