Passover begins today and the world’s Jewish community celebrates Moses saving them from slavery.

The festival is one of the most important in the Jewish calendar and means plenty of feasts, traditions as well as eating lots of unleavened bread. Everything lasts for eight days, from the evening of Friday, April 22 until the evening of Saturday, April 30.

8 Things You Didn’t Know About Passover

1. The world’s largest Seder meal takes place every year in Kathmandu, Nepal. Around 2,000 people come together for the meal.
2. Jewish people from Iran and Afghanistan whack each other with spring onions. The custom takes place before the traditional song Dayenu.
3. For Passover, the Coca-Cola Company distributes a Kosher version of Coca Cola. Look for the yellow cap!
4. Some Jewish Ethiopians break all of their cooking dishes at Passover and make a new set to symbolize making a true break with the past.
5. A piece of matzo known as the Afikomen is broken off during the Seder meal and hidden somewhere in the house for the kids to hunt down after the meal.
6. Only 10 factories in the world produce matzo — three in Israel, two in the United States and the rest in Europe.
7. Manischewitz is a brand, not the Hebrew word for kosher wine.
8. The world’s largest matzo ballwas unveiled in 2010 at the Jewish Food Festival in Tucson, Arizona, weighing in at 488 pounds. Ingredients included more than 1,000 eggs, 25 pounds of chicken fat and 125 pounds of matzo meal.
