Maribeth is a Direct Support Professional at a BAMSI Day Hab. She has been a true asset and resource from her very first day at BAMSI. Maribeth is a constant advocate for both person served as well as her fellow coworkers. She is always willing to offer creative suggestions of best practices and policies while also working tirelessly to successfully integrate Positive Behavioral Supports.
Maribeth willingly takes on extra tasks including mentoring new staff or, taking it a step further, searching for a van to promote community inclusion for persons served. She performs every aspect of her job extremely well, making her a successful, independent role model for other staff. Additionally, Maribeth has formed an amazing rapport with the person served, so much so that many individuals ask for her by name upon arrival.
Maribeth is the quintessential team player. She can be found lending a listening ear to persons served and even her co-workers to provide support, guidance or even a shoulder to cry on. For all these reasons and more, we are delighted to present the Extra Distance Award to Maribeth Barrows.
