Adult Companionship

Adult companionship is non-medical care, supervision and socialization provided to an individual who qualifies for services under the Home and Community Based Waiver.

Adult companion services are provided in accordance with a therapeutic goal established in the participating adult’s Individual Service Plan.  Adult companionship services are covered where the adult companion enables the participant to function with greater independence within the participant’s home or community.

Services include:

  • Socialization
  • Assistance with light household tasks
  • Assistance meal preparation
  • Laundry
  • Grocery shopping support
