Ann L. Ward Congregate HouseElderly Services

Over the past decade, the Ann L. Ward Congregate House has served as home to more than 100 elderly and disabled individuals who might otherwise have been prematurely placed in a nursing home.  The benefits of congregate housing include a supportive community for those who wish to live as independently as possible.  The facility is designed to provide residents with the opportunity for security and companionship while preserving personal privacy.  Shared meals and recreational activities are available, as well as professionally coordinated services.

The house consists of private apartments, with a total capacity for 22 residents.  Each tenant has a private bedroom and half bathroom. Four tenants share a kitchenette, shower, and tub facilities.  All residents have access to the living room, dining room, and entertainment room as shared common areas.  A meal program is offered Monday through Friday.  The facility is handicapped accessible, with an elevator and ramp providing easy access.

BAMSI coordinates the administrative and home health services at Ann L. Ward Congregate House in partnership with the Brockton Housing Authority, which owns and maintains the facility, and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, which provides financial support.
