The Brockton WIC Program has begun a six-week cooking class, taking place at WIC at 795 Pleasant Street. The classes started in September and will go through October 24th. We have partnered with Share our Strength:  Cooking Matters to offer our clients something different. Twelve current WIC clients are participating in the hands-on class featuring good nutrition and food safety. At the end of each class, each client takes home a bag of groceries and recipe to recreate the item at home.

At last week’s class, we made Baked Flaked Chicken Tenders, Baked Sweet Potato Fries, and Crunchy Cranberry Coleslaw made with cabbage, carrot, broccoli, cranberries, and raisins (nuts can be added for crunch; we opted not to due to food allergy issues).

We hope you enjoy trying out these recipes at home!
