The Brockton WIC Program has begun a six-week cooking class, taking place at WIC at 795 Pleasant Street. The classes started in September and will go through October 24th. We have partnered with Share our Strength:  Cooking Matters to offer our clients something different. Twelve current WIC clients are participating in the hands-on class featuring good nutrition and food safety. At the end of each class, each client takes home a bag of groceries and recipe to recreate the item at home.

For our first class, the group made Black Bean and Vegetable Quesadillas with Mango Salsa. Click here for the recipes.

At the next class, participants enjoyed Vegetable and Tofu Stir-Fry with Brown Rice and Honey Yogurt Fruit for dessert. Click here for recipes.

The cooking class has four weeks left. Give these recipes a try at home, and keep an eye out for next week’s recipes!
