Development/Intellectual Disabilities & Autism Services

Residential Services

BAMSI operates a number of state-of-the-art residential homes for adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

BAMSI’s residential network includes community centered living for adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities.   Each person has his or her own room which they can decorate in their own style and favorite colors. Common spaces including the bathrooms, kitchen, and living rooms are shared with housemates. These homes are decorated to the tastes and preferences of the persons served while keeping in mind the needs.

The dedicated staff members provide support in areas including, but not limited to, personal care, personal finance, and transportation. Staff members engage the residents in a variety of stimulating, therapeutic activities to build cognitive, physical, and social skills. Persons served are encouraged to take pride in where they live and truly make their residence a home. Persons served are also encouraged to become active members of their communities including engaging in employment, volunteer activities as well as social and recreational activities.

A number of residential homes offer 24-hour nursing care designed to assist more medically involved residents with medication administration, medical treatments, medical appointments, and other care. All homes have a Registered Nurse available for consultation.

Eligibility for BAMSI’s residential network for those with developmental or intellectual disabilities is determined by the Department of Developmental Services.
