BAMSI Receives $499,968 Grant in Support of Technology Advancements

BROCKTON, MA (September 13, 2024) – The Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) has awarded BAMSI $499,968.00 to complete technology advancements within the 90 group homes operated by the agency.

BAMSI plans to use these funds to purchase desktop computers, monitors (with webcams), tablets, printers, laptops, and Access Points and Power Over Ethernet (POE) Switches for the wireless network for every home.

These devices will allow BAMSI to improve service delivery, interactions with members, data sharing and collaboration, operational efficiency, clinical care, and care coordination. The upgrade will also improve BAMSI’s cyber security efforts.

Updating computers with cameras and microphones will allow individuals supported to become more active participants in their telehealth appointments.  It will also increase community connections and engagement with family and friends through video conversations.

BAMSI expects this grant to result in improved delivery of Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) across the agency, allowing for improved case management, clinical care, and data sharing between BAMSI’s HCBS programs, other providers, and state and local agencies in several ways.

Improved community engagement and communication between persons served and their providers, families, and friends will result in increased compliance with Individual Service Plans (ISP), reducing the need for corrective action plans.

The IT department has a plan to roll out all technological improvements within the next 12 months.
