BAMSI Honored with Excellence in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Award

BAMSI’s Racial and Social Justice Work Group is being recognized by the Association of Behavioral Health (ABH) for its efforts to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice as part of ABH’s annual Salute to Excellence.

ABH’s Salute to Excellence recognizes individuals and groups, often clinical and direct care staff, who have made outstanding contributions to community-based behavioral healthcare in Massachusetts. This year, BAMSI is honored to be receiving the Excellence in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Award.

Since issuing the below Declaration in July 2020, BAMSI’s Racial and Social Justice Workgroup has been working hard to address issues related to race and racism within BAMSI.  Among the groups accomplishments are the agency wide Listening and Learning sessions last year; ongoing POC Table Talks; International Day; agency wide recognition and celebration of Black History Month, Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Pride, and Hispanic Heritage Month; revision of multiple policies and procedures, various professional development offerings and ongoing discussions at the leadership level on how to be a more just and equitable employer.
