BAMSI Earns Three-Year CARF Accreditation
BROCKTON, MA — January 14, 2020 — CARF International announced that BAMSI (Brockton Area Multi-Services, Inc.) has been accredited for a period of three years for its Day Treatment: Mental Health (Adults); Outpatient Treatment Mental Health (Adults, Children & Adolescents), and Community Integration programs. The latest accreditation is the ninth consecutive Three-Year Accreditation that the international accrediting body has awarded BAMSI.
This decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.
Among many strengths mentioned in the final CARF report, the surveyors observed, “BAMSI benefits from a dedicated board, leadership and staff members who fully embrace the organizations mission ‘to empower people and enrich their lives through compassionate support and diverse services, one individual, one family at a time.’”
BAMSI is a non-profit comprehensive network of human services designed to help people with physical, mental and behavioral health challenges, and public health needs to live their best lives. Incorporated in 1975 as a coordinated response to the shifting ideologies surrounding care of the developmentally disabled, BAMSI now operates more than 140 day and residential service locations in Massachusetts, including almost 100 permanent residences for adults. BAMSI also offers Wraparound family services, brain injury services and community supports. In 2019, BAMSI provided services and supports to almost 63,000 people.
Anthony Simonelli, Jr., BAMSI’s President & CEO said, “We are proud to receive this important recognition of our efforts to provide optimal quality programming and services, consistently recognized by our funders, persons served and their families and guardians. Our employees should be commended for their incredible efforts every day.”
