DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SUPPORTS BROCKTON AREA MULTI-SERVICE

Dedham, MA – The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated $10,000 to Brockton Area Multi-Services, Inc. (BAMSI).  This grant will be used to improve accessibility for individuals in the organization’s residences by removing barriers and integrating SMART technology, based on recommendations from Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and Physical Therapists.  SMART technology will assist residents with opening/closing doors, turning on/off lights, opening/closing window shades, increasing/decreasing the temperature within the home, and operating every-day appliances. This will provide residents with greater independence in ambulating, completing activities of daily living, communicating with family and friends, and fully utilizing the residential homes.
